Patterns aren’t hard — they’re just coded. Learn how to read a sewing pattern and prep it correctly so you stop guessing and start sewing with a plan.

We’ll cover:

  • What the envelope is really telling you (fabric + notions)

  • Choosing your size (and what to do between sizes)

  • Reading instructions without spiraling

  • Grainline, notches, darts, markings, seam allowance

  • Layout on fabric + cutting strategy

  • Prep steps that prevent expensive mistakes

Please park in the back parking lot and enter through the Rebel Threads door (basement entrance). We’ll meet in the Rebel Threads business space and walk up to the classroom space together.
Arrive 5–10 minutes early.

Bring:
A paper pattern you want to use (brand + number if possible).
If you don’t have one, we’ll have practice patterns available.

What’s provided:
Pattern weights/pins, marking tools, measuring tools, practice materials

You’ll leave with:
A prepped plan for your project: correct size selection, marking clarity, and a cutting/layout strategy
